So, I’m trying something a little different. I would love to hear about YOU! I opened it up to the Boutique Bargains members to share thier experiences and answer a few questions. They’ve agreed to share on the BB Blog! Enjoy!
Our post this week is about Julie’s Basement Deals
Tell us a little about you and your family. How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I was born and raised in Canton, Ohio, and currently live in Columbus, Ohio with my husband and two daughters. I went to The Ohio State University and received a degree in Occupational Therapy. After taking a year off, I am back to work as a “substitute” therapist at a skilled nursing facility here in town. I have two daughters, ages 5 1/2 and 3. My husband owns a screen printing company and recently started working as a sales manager for a major musical instrument manufacturer. We will eventually move to Jacksonville, Florida which is where his company is located.
What is your eBay ID or Store Name? Any story behind how you came up with your eBay name?
My eBay ID is “osuot” which stands for “Ohio State University Occupational Therapist.” My store name is “Julie’s Basement Deals” because after my second daughter was born, my computer desk was moved to our basement,
When did you first start to build a business around eBay or is it a hobby for you?
I have every intention to build a business around eBay, but it is currently just a hobby for me. I love reading posts from the various blogs/groups I have joined, and hope to use all of my new knowledge sometime in the future!
Who has been an inspiration to you to continue selling on eBay?
I am motivated by several friends I know that sell on eBay. Nothing like a little competition to inspire you!!!
What sort of person do you think would be a good fit for eBay?
Must be organized and self-directed. Also need to have some type of motivation to keep up with the postings!
What first three steps would you recommend someone take to dig deeper into eBay?
1) look into 3rd party web-hosting sites for templates and picture hosting
2) subscribe to blogs
3) stay consistent with your listings/postings…it’s hard to get re-motivated after not listing for a while!
Thanks, Julie!!
