Blogging to Increase Your eBay Sales

So our recent blogging project brought up some interesting questions that I wanted to share.  It’s nice to see so many of you that are interested in bringing your selling to the next level.  However, I have to be honest, I expected a lot more of you to actually jump in to having your own blog!  I know it’s a change, and you’re all so used to listing away on eBay.  But quite honestly, it’s about growing your business and stepping outside of the eBay boundaries.

On to the blogging questions that inquiring minds are asking:

Q: How much time do I need to spend on blogging?

A: You should spend about 20 minutes a day working on your blog.  Whether it’s writing one post or five, you want to get in the habit of paying attention to your blog every day so you consistently have fresh content for your readers.

Q: I’m really new to this, and feel quite clueless.  Is this simple for beginners?

A: YES, I can’t say it enough.  There’s an addiction about blogging that I can’t quite describe… I promise!  Once you get it all set up, you’ll find your groove.

Q: I have absolutely NO skills with setting up a website.

A: That’s OK, you’re not the only one.  You can easily leave it up to the person setting up your blog for you.  Web support is a god send for us non techie people.

Q: Is this going to be expensive?

A: It doesn’t have to be and it’s a very wise investment that you will have with you for a very long time.  Our pals at Freshnets can hook you up and the momwebs hosting service is very affordable.  We use WordPress Blogs and they ROCK!

Q: So I need a domain name separate than what I’m using for eBay?

A: You can if you absolutely want to have a different name, but it’s not necessary.  I think it’s personal preference. Either way, your domain name should be short and easy to remember.

Q: What if I get stuck, can I contact you or someone?

A: Absolutely!!  This isn’t something that we would leave you hanging with and we’re experienced enough with it that we can get the kinks out if you have writers block.  And don’t forget tech support is always there for technical issues.

Q: I don’t know what to write about!!!!

A: LOL!!  So funny, I thought I wouldn’t know how to put a blog post together to save my life, but it’s a lot easier than you give yourself credit for.  Your focus is eBay!  You’re going to be blogging about your items, your experiences, sharing your tips and connecting with other eBayer’s out there.

In the near future, I’ll be sharing with you the results of my eBay blog and how they’ve improved traffic to my listings on eBay.  It’s quite impressive and I’m thrilled!  I’m waiting for a full months worth of data, so the results will be in pretty soon…

Stay tuned!

Another Successful Month On eBay!

It’s great to see our members rock out another successful month of profitable sales!

These were some of the sales that Debbie, from Little Baby Of Mine had in the month of May…

Here is one of my favorites – -picked up this at that big $4.99 blow out sale at Gymboree! Cost was about $12.00 total – what a great profit!

This one was bought by a woman from Australia – nice profit since I picked this up at the Corky warehouse sale in April.

This came from that new site Jenn linked us up with. I bought two of these at $49 each and sold them both in good time and at a good profit!

I was surprised my May was very good – I had expected it to get a bit slow. But it didn’t.
I also had listed some of my daughter’s gymmies from Gymboree – winter ones – they flew out the door!!!!

Hope it doesn’t slow down too much in June. I’m still seeing some sales – but time will tell!

Awesome eBay Sales in April!

Straight from our forum, every month we make it a point for members to share their previous month’s hot (and not so hot) sales.  It’s an awesome way to learn from one another and get an idea of what is selling well for others.  Maybe it’s a boutique brand you never heard of, or would like to try selling for yourself!

Our seller spot light for April is Cindy from DC Squared Wearhouse!  Cindy is a long time, much appreciated member of Boutique Bargains.  :0)

Here are some of Cindy’s successful sales for April…

Bear Feet $42 from Alerts

Miraclesuit Marshall’s $29.99 (wish I could find more of these!)

Hanna Andersson Sweater $22 from Alerts

Lelli Kelly Boots $18

Ralph Lauren Polo $25 from Marshall’s

Thanks for sharing your success, Cindy!

A Message From One of Our Members!

Oh my – I just love it when we get positive feedback!

Take a look at what Wendy from Main Street Fashions had to say!

Jenn,

I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you for your hard work on the bb alerts.  I went to the Tent Sale on Saturday that you sent an email alert about, and OMG!!!!!!  It was unbelievable.  I was overwhelmed.  I will definitely be going every month when they have one.  Their next one is in April.  I got a lot of awesome items at a great price.  I totally recommend everyone that lives near Raleigh to go.  I got my son a $72 sweater for $5. I drove 2 hours and it was totally worth the time and gas to go there.  I am going to get the rest into my store today.  Again, thank you soooo much!!!!!!
