So, I search eBay of course!

So, what will it be….  Here’s a great start on what’s selling on eBay as far as finding a Backpack. 

I’ll use this as my guage on how to be in the know on what to get while we’re in the middle of the isle with three backpacks to decide on and 10 other moms in my shoes. 

My guess is this…

Justice Backpack  – Justice for girls has become so popular – and you can now find them in overstock stores like Marshall’s/Ross/TJMaxx for a fraction of the price.  The Zebra Hot Pink Patterns and Piece Signs are very popular, including the Messenger Bags.  Resale value is good, as long as the bag makes it through the school year!

Jansport Backpack - Like a good friend…Jansport has always been around.  This is my personal pick and I’m hoping to influence her decision on this style.  You know you can find Jansport in a lot of retail locations at a reasonable price.

And of course, the standby Disney Backpack - which I’m hoping we’re past this stage – but she IS a huge Disney Channel fan. We’ll cross that melt down when we come to it.  Disney holds a steady resale value, especially when sold new on eBay.  I curious to see how the new movie releases will do, like Toy Story 3.

To answer the question…sales are good!  I’ve been able to maintain my Power-Seller and Top Rated Seller Status.  I stick with what works – period.  I find that I have to continually list to keep selling.  If I stop listing, I don’t sell hardly at all.  I just try to replace what I sell.  So if I have 2 sales, I list 2 items.  If I get to list more, it’s definitely a plus!  Being a busy mom, I definitely have roadblocks when it comes to getting a lot done during the day.  I’m sure you can relate.  Don’t get discouraged – it’s a good thing when you’re always busy with eBay, right?

Get organized now, you’ll be glad you did come the end of the year!

I printed out everything I have listed in my eBay store.  Took a few of those huge Rubbermaid bins, started at the top of my inventory list and worked my way to the bottom.  Everything on the list went in a bin and was crossed off.  Whatever was left, went to auction or the consignment shop.  If it wasn’t in season and I felt I could make some money off of it, I listed it in my store.  Or, hey, if it was my kids size – it went in their closet!  There were even one or two items I donated.

Now that taking inventory is behind me, I feel refreshed and ready to clean up what new inventory I have anxiously waiting a photograph or two, and list it in my eBay store.

It’s important to take inventory at least every year.  Clean out anything that hasn’t sold out of your store in the last 18 months at least!  If you’re comfortable with running .99 auctions, then go for it and get the stuff out of your way.  You may even be surprised that you’ll make more than you anticipated.
