Tough Question Tuesday: How Do You Earn Money While Shopping On eBay?

Tough Question Tuesday:  How Do You Earn Money While Shopping On eBay?

Sweet!  Earn money while you shop?!  Actually this is a mixture of a few of the same questions.  I wasn’t sure how to break it up – so I’m going to do a few different Tough Question Tuesday posts for everyone that asked.

Thanks to The Spoiled Sunflower for bringing up one of the questions. I’ll be mentioning another way to earn some extra money soon!

There are a few different ways to earn some extra money while shopping on eBay.

ONE way is to shop eBay through BigCrumbs.com

Cash Back Details/Exceptions
eBay pays based on a percentage of the seller’s total fee. Seller’s fee may be difficult to discern for the buyer because it depends on options selected by the seller. To estimate fees for a purchase you’re considering please see eBay’s fee page.

Note: You must click through to eBay just prior to placing a winning bid or executing a Buy It Now transaction. Simply clicking through to make a payment is NOT sufficient for credit.

Excludes $.01 (one penny) purchases and all purchases for which the seller’s fee exceeds the purchase amount.

You can also list your eBay Store on BigCrumbs.com.

eBay Sellers: Your Buyers Are Here. Reach Them–100% FREE.

Add your eBay store to BigCrumbs and your items will be seen by a community of eBayers who spend millions on eBay each month. Don’t have an “official” eBay Store? Just create a virtual store on BigCrumbs.com!

I use Terapeak relentlessly as a part of providing accurate information to my Boutique Bargains subscribers.

They have implemented some improvements last week -

Starting March 16thTerapeak is switching to a transaction-based system, which means you’ll have access to sales as they happen! In other words, if you are looking for research on FP 30 / multiple-item listings, you’ll receive info as each item sells  no more waiting for the entire listing to close. You can also now add your eBay ID to your Terapeak account and review your week’s sales!

And there’s more! Our new Value Track service gives you the ability to save up to 25 favorite searches for free, and creates a self-updating sales report for these top items. Use this table to keep a close eye on your market and goodsAdditionally, subscribers to our All-Sites International package will be able to perform an “All-Site” search and view data from six countries in one single report.

Finally, when you log into your account, you’ll notice a few new pages and an easier-to-use, more customizable report!

You don’t have to download anything or make any adjustments to your account — simply anticipate some changes when you log in after March 16th!

We’ll be adding more features over the next few months to make your research easier to access and to understand. Please watch for updates as they occur.

As always, we welcome your feedback. If you have anything to share, please contact us at support@terapeak.com (subject: FEEDBACK).

Do You Like To List On eBay U.K?

Hey, check out this feature.  This will certainly save a lot of headache when sellers from the U.S – list on eBay U.K.

International Site Visibility listing upgrade –

Read the entire post here:

http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200903161629212.html

How it works
When you choose the International Site Visibility upgrade in the Sell Your Item form, Turbo Lister and third-party tools like ChannelAdvisor, your item will be displayed in regular search results on eBay UK. This way, your item receives added exposure for less than it would cost to list directly on both eBay.com and eBay.co.uk.
For all the details about our promotion, and to learn more about the International Site Visibility listing upgrade, please see our

eBay Inc. Announces Three-Year Roadmap For Growth

Company provides long-term financial outlook at analyst meeting

San Jose, Calif., – March 11, 2009 – eBay Inc. (NASDAQ: EBAY) today shared with investors at a company-held meeting a roadmap of its growth plans through 2011. The company provided details of its strategies to drive leadership in the company’s two core businesses — its PayPal global online payments business and its ecommerce marketplace and other ecommerce formats that connect buyers and sellers.

eBay Inc. continues to rapidly extend its global leadership in online payments through PayPal. John Donahoe, eBay Inc. president and chief executive officer, stressed the enormous potential of PayPal. Donahoe said PayPal has become a second core business for the company, with an opportunity bigger than eBay Marketplaces because PayPal targets all of ecommerce.

“We expect PayPal to become the next leading online global payments network,” Donahoe said. “Increasingly for online consumers, there’s no paper, no plastic – there’s just PayPal. We believe this business is one of the most exciting and high-potential opportunities anywhere online today.”

Tough Question Tuesday: How Do You Label Your Kids Clothing?

Q:  How Do You Label Your Kids Clothing?

A:  Let me tell you.  I am NOT a fan of writing on my daughters clothing.  I never have, I never will.  It’s just one of ‘those things’ I can’t bring myself to do.  I would sooner get out the masking tape or make a label out of white address labels, before I put any kind of markings on her items.

Call me crazy, but paying good money for clothing and then having to write her name on it, because of school requirements, isn’t going to fly with me.  Maybe because I know the resale value may suffer.  I’ve been selling on eBay too long to put a profitable item at risk!

Can you tell this is a touchy subject?  ;-)

I discovered Loveable Labels:-)   A wonderful alternative to marking up your kids clothing.  Loveable Labels has been voted “Best Kids Labels”.  They certainly have my vote!

Loveable Labels include Regular and Slimline Stickers, Shoe Labels, Iron-ons and Bag Tags.  They are not only bright, fun and colourful but also met the high standards that parents have come to expect.  The Regular and Slimline labels are microwave and dishwasher safe, the Iron-on labels stay put in the washer and dryer, the Shoe Labels have an extra strength adhesive to ensure they won’t come off and the Bag Tags are made of a durable and flexible plastic.

I use these on everything, and now my daughter knows to use them on her clothing, show n tell, toys we travel with, etc.  ;-)

Check them out and let me know what you think!  Loveable Labels

Tough Question Tuesday: What Do You Use For Tracking eBay Sales?

Q:  What Do You Use For Tracking eBay Sales?

A: I just recently started using this tool, and I’m very pleased. :-)   If you know me, you know I will not recommend something that I just absolutely don’t use myself.

I’m absolutely loving the spreadsheet from Easy Auctions Tracker.  It’s amazing!  I reached out to the creators and they’ve agreed to give a $5 discount through March 15th.  I highly recommend it.

Easy Auctions Tracker is the Ultimate Excel spreadsheet solution for eBay sellers and Trading Assistants! This spreadsheet doesn’t calculate your fees, it actually COLLECTS your transaction information from your eBay account for you!!

This will make your busy life so much easier!

Very user friendly – if you need help, the support email is very responsive.

Use the paypal button on this page for the $5 discount
    http://www.easyauctionstracker.com/psm/

If you pull your January transaction data in by March 30th – this will let you go back as far as Jan. 1st (since eBay stores the info on their servers for 3 months). This will enable you to have complete 2009 info. in your spreadsheet if you choose to purchase the full version.

I’ve been looking for an easy FAST tool for eBay bookkeeping and this does the trick.

    Have fun with it!  :-)

Moneybookers and Paymate Now Approved Payment Methods On eBay

Looks like we’re moving right along with eBay improving on their Accepted Payments Policy.  They’ve added 2 new payment methods on eBay.  It’s refreshing, as I know there are some people out there who just would rather use an alternative, or have a back up.

To learn more about these new payment methods, visit www.moneybookers.com/partners/us/ebay and www.paymate.com/eBay.

Tough Question Tuesday: How long Until I See Some Return On My eBay Investments?

Q:  How long until I see some return on my eBay investments?

GREAT, question!  This is certainly not going to be the same answer for everyone.

A:  I do believe if you are just starting out that it takes paitence, and a great deal of dedication. Ebay is not a get rich quick business. It could take a good year to get yourself up and established through out the seasons to find your niche and what is working well for you.  Some people start seeing results right away, others don’t.  That doesn’t mean to give up.

Not every item is going to sell for you at the second it is listed to your store or put to auction.  It takes research and learning the trends from season to season.

I see so many new eBayers get worked up when an item doesn’t sell right away, and quit, in a matter of weeks.

Take it from me, it’s not easy, but it DOES work.  I’ve been in the same situation.  More of a reason to reach out to me and let me show you how I’ve already learned from many mistakes!

Hope to see you on the inside!

    ~Jenn
