Tough Question Tuesday: Do You Share Your eBay Items On Facebook?

Q:  I recently was asked by a long time subscriber of Boutique Bargains, if I was a member of Facebook

A:  Yep!  I am.

I use it as a social networking tool mainly for businesses - eBay and Boutique Bargains.

eBay released a plug in where you can share your newly listed items to be published through a feed to share with other eBay enthusiasts and potential buyers.

Every time you list an item, you’ll see a message from eBay on the last screen of your listing process that lets you know your item is now being shown on Facebook.  Of course, it’s only going to be published to those that are your friends, so be sure to get in with the cirlcle of fellow eBayers for best results!

Here it is on eBay:

Sites where you can share

Currently, you can share your eBay listings with friends on Facebook. If you share your listings with your friends on Facebook, they’ll be able to view your listings in your News Feed.

Once you select a website for sharing, we’ll direct all of your listings to your friends at the other site. Items in certain eBay categories might not shared. The other website might choose not to share all listings with its members.

View the entire page here for a better understanding:

You can certainly add me as a friend on facebook to get the ball rolling!

Thanks Debbie, for your Question!

New Search Experience On eBay

Last year, eBay introduced the new Auto-Complete feature that enabled users to make it easier to search, by making suggestions as they typed an item in the search box on eBay.  A majority of users have really enjoyed this feature, so eBay will be making more enhancements including:

We wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that over the coming months we will be rolling out some key features to the New Search Experience that you have been requesting.
These features include but are not limited to:

  • Adding the “Get More results in Other eBay areas” you can see currently at the bottom of the classic search pages as well as the Tools Section

  • Upgrading the Category selector on the Advanced search pages to reflect any subcategories you may have used in your browse path

  • Including a new customize your preference function so that you have more control over what you see in the left navigation

  • Updating the drop downs to change your sort and view to make them easier to use

  • Creating a more user-friendly experience when your search returns 0 items.

  • Supporting the ability to do a negative search in a lower level category

Tough Question Tuesday: Guest Blogger Power Selling Mom, Danna Crawford

blog_tqt

This weeks Tough Question Tuesday was answered by Power Selling Mom, Danna Crawford!

Danna was gracious enough to be our Guest Blogger this week and answer a few questions for Tough Question Tuesday.

Q:  How Do You Manage Your eBay Taxes?

A:  *I have a great accountant! I hand him my sales reports from my eBay store and all my receipts and I let him figure it out! He then contacts me to let me know how much money I owe the IRS!*

Q:  How Do You Manage Your eBay Sales Month To Month?

A:  I just started using a new program that I am just loving:  http://www.easyauctionstracker.com/psm/  I’m very pleased with it and am a proud supporter of it. You can listen into the radio broadcast of this service as they were a guest on my show.

Q:  How Do You Feel About The Latest CPSIA Lead Standards?

A:  I am still confused about how this is going to effect so many many MANY different businesses. I was just reading “Goodwill stores pull clothes, toys from shelves to comply with lead safety law
I feel for the boutique sellers. All those gals on eBay that make those darling clothes. I can’t imagine how they are going to work around this. I did hear one gal was giving it up and going to start making dresses for Cross dressers! So there you go, the creative minds always have a Plan B on the back burner. Never to give up and work through the change, adjusting and rising above it.

So, there you have it!  Thanks, Dana! :)

Fee Changes For eBay-Hosted Pictures

I must admit, I was really drawn to this when I read the subject line!

For those of you that sell in the Collectibles, Art, Antiques and Pottery & Glass categories – effective February 18th, your eBay Hosted Pictures will be free!  That’s awesome news for you!

But what about the rest of us???  I would LOVE to have a chance at having everything related to eBay ON eBay!  I don’t particularly focus on those categories regularly so, it really does me no good.

eBay Selling Coach Podcast: Clothing Lead Testing Law & eBay Sellers

I had a great, great time with Suzanne yesterday, being a guest on her Podcast.  We discussed all types of eBay selling strategies, the CPSIA Lead Testing Standards, and our opinions on selling in general.

We certainly are different types of sellers, in what we sell, however we share very common opinions about why we sell and continue to stick with eBay, even though there have been (and always will be) changes.  We both share a similar passion as to why we do what we do for other moms.

If you haven’t joined us inside Boutique Bargains, a special offer was made and mentioned on Suzanne’s eBay Selling Coach Blog - so grab it while you can! ;)

I look forward to chatting with Suzanne again!

Tough Question Tuesday: Does Your Spouse Support Your eBay Business?

Q: Does your husband support what you do?

A:  Well…..LOL!! To be totally honest, I think some days he would rather me go back to work for steady pay or just throw the computer out the window. He is DEFINITELY more supportive now that he has seen what I have made it into and that it is not a hobby anymore.

It took him some time to come around and the stubborn nature in both of us made for some difficult times. I love what I do, and it’s not something that I see myself giving up on.  We both have our passions.

We both agree that being at home is the best thing for my daughter and that is what drives me everyday.  He would like me to continue eBay as long as it isn’t costing me money.

Pretty Awesome tool that eBay has!   Buyers from any country can search sellers’ listings from any of the 16 local eBay sites throughout the world—from one convenient location.

The eBay Global Buying Hub is especially helpful when:
